Synthetic Fill Parka?

Any ideas for a good, very warm, synthetic fill parka? I have a very nice North Face down filled parka that leaks feathers like crazy and I'm about ready to move to something new with a synthetic fill. I figure end-of-season bargains might be had in a month or so.

I'd like to have something with an insulated hood, a few pockets, decent wet weather protection and a rating around 0° since I tend to be cold natured. This will not be used for backpacking so weight is not a huge factor.

Is there such a parka? Any recommendations?

Bill check out Burlington Coat Factory! That's where I got my down jacket for $25. I'm sure you can find a good deal on a synthetic there..

Check out the LL Bean thinsulate parka....Maine Warden's jacket, I believe but I didn't go check before posting. Mine has GoreTex and it is well made, pricey and very warm.

Get some thinsulate gloves to go along with it.

You probably can find an equivalent item at REI and might get a rebate if it's not already on sale, but I'm very satisfied with LLB.

Plus, it seems easier to get neutral or dark colors from LLB easier than the latest trendy color that REI offers. Not wanting to walk around looking like a neon sign I opt for black or charcoal gray whenever possible.

Sure wish somebody would make these in digital camo.

Bummer. Looks like LLBean has some stuff on sale, but none that jump out as warm as you're looking for. I'd say hit Burlington Coat Factory just to see what they have, then maybe REI and a few other stores (road trip to Cabela's?) before searching online. Too many times coats look a lot warmer on your computer screen....

Bill...you hound you, i am after some off the season deals for a Parka. I have been monitoring Ebay and Sportsmanguide as well.

Understood Moderator Man! Better to try a parka on if possible. The Mountain Equipment stuff looks good...maybe this one although it lacks proper hand warmer pockets:

I almost never buy outerwear unless it's on sale Homero! I can usually find what I want on sale somewhere. The North Face parka I have retails for $300.00 and I got it for $125.00. Still, I will be willing to spend up to $150.00, on sale or not, for the right parka. I just have the feeling that lots of winter stuff will be marked down starting late this month and into March.

In addition to Burlington, I'll swing by Whole Earth Provision this weekend. Their prices are not cheap but once in a while there is a mark down so maybe I'll get lucky.
