The Seedhouse is in the House!
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:03:38 PM »
The Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 tent that I ordered a week or so ago arrived today! Seems to be very nice although a couple of the pole junctions were tight and required a little adjustment to go together and come apart easily. I weighed the whole kit and kaboodle as delivered and everything totals right at 4 pounds. Not too bad for a two person tent. The little stakes they include are kinda heavy but also seem a cut above the typical aluminum skewer stake included with most tents.

If the weather cooperates tomorrow, I'll set the tent up outside to get familiar with it and I'll take some pics to share here.

Looking forward to what you think of the Big Agnes.  I'm still using a $99 REI Camp Dome tent, but am looking to upgrade at some point in the future.  I'll use the REI for the OML trip I plan on taking this month.  I haven't seen a '2 man' tent yet that truly has enough room for 2 normal sized people.  My biggest complaint about the REI is that it really isn't 84 inches long.  I'm only 5'11" and my head and feet touch the ends of the tent when inside.

Hi Brother Byrd!  :icon_wink:
Happy New Year!!

I paid $152.00 USD for the Seedhouse SL2 + $10.00 for shipping. Not bad but I missed out on another SL2 a couple of days earlier that went for even less and included the footprint (fitted ground cloth) that goes under the tent. The one I got did not have the footprint but that was not a big problem for me. There are some bargains occasionally if you keep looking! I can say for sure that the Seedhouse SL2 will be give me a LOT more room than the Eureka! Solitaire it replaces and it only weighs slightly more.

Good luck on finding a good deal on an SL2!!

That's a great price on the SL2 considering it retails for around $279 - $300 at most stores.

Agreed.....Ebay is like  a flip of the coin, sometimes you can find an incredible deal you just can not pass over, sometimes you only see crummy prices not worth pursuiting. One just has to keep at it and be patient to find the right price on the right item.I still say you had a great deal on your tent.Footprint or not. I can not find one for less than $230.00 bucks. :icon_frown:
