...between a 3-season tent and a 4-season tent?
I'll be the jump start for the car parked in your mind, 'Cause you left the lights on all night long.

I've had good three season tents fail with as little as 4-6 inches of wet snow. When I'm at altitude during late fall through spring I always carry my 4-season tent. In Texas, I just use a 3-season.

Does that mean a person would stay warmer in a 4-season tent?

In theory, yes.  The 3-season tents typically have better ventilation.  Sometimes the only difference is pole sleeves versus clips.
