What are the odds of a bear and a panther being seen in the same area around the same time like that?

Hi Shanea!
That is the truth!  It sure seemed like a lot of bear sightings in May.
As they would say, there were more bears than you can shake a stick at.

The June Wildlife sightings are on the BBNP website:

http://www.nps.gov/bibe/naturescience/upload/sightings-062007.pdf

(the header says December 2006, but it is a different list of sightings from the Dec 2006 report on the website...)

I got "Page not found".  Went to the Sightings page, but it didn't have July listed.  Maybe it wasn't quite ready for public viewing....

Worked for me.

Only 2 mountain lion sightings, both toward the end of the month. Wonder where they are?

What's up with a lot of the NPS BIBE links going to https links?  The sightings page still doesn't show the July updates for me.  Oh well, maybe tomorrow after I've cleared my cache.

Thanks for the post.  Looks "busy" out there....  Perhaps not as busy as sometime last year when they had to close off a number of trails...
