Metalman: you have probably found one of the best forum sites for any of the National Parks. I think it's a combination of the park getting very light visitation from the general public, combined with a genuinely nice group of folks who are willing to share their knowledge with those who have an interest to share in this little corner of the world.
I found this site a few years ago, and it's one that I continue to frequent even though my own experience at the park has been limited to 2 visits. If you have questions about other wilderness sites, you can ask here as well. You'll find many of us have plenty of other backcountry places we like to visit.
Trip reports I found here led me to explore other places like Guadalupe Mtns Nat'l Park.
