Garmin 60CSx Update
« on: July 21, 2009, 10:34:26 PM »
You may already be aware, but if not, Garmin has an update for the 60CSx:
1.  Unit software update to v4.0
2.  Chip software update (if you use the Webupdater tool, it will download and install the chip software update after the unit software update.

Thanks BBH, got it a couple of weeks ago.

See below. Had a hard time convincing Garmin of a bug in 6.15.3 and later, but it looks as though enough people posted on Groundspeak to finally get an admission out of them.

A internal fix for this issue has been made.  We do not have a schedule release date available at this time.

Please review the attached Groundspeak Forum link. There was a bug in Version 6.15.3 which still exists in Version 6.15.6. Do you have a time frame for a fix?

Subject:
Mapsource Crash
Message Body:
Upgraded to Mapsource 6.15.3 and am experiencing crashes after using the any tool (ie track, waypoint, or route) and then trying to "save as"
.gpx file. I can save as .gdb with no problems. I also can open an existing .gpx and after opening it I can select "File", "New", generate some waypoints and then successfully save as .gpx Reverting back to
6.13.7 does not cause this crash. I have tried reinstalling 6.15.3 after
removing Garmin registry entries, but no success there.

Looks like I was not only behind on my 60csx firmware, I had an older version of the webupdater.  Thanks for the update!

I too was behind with my web updater, but it never notifies me of an update. Does anybody knows how to use this correctly?.
