If I'm right, that model has a slot for Micro SD cards (a friend was showing me his);  you could copy the entire park and carry it in your pocket.

Check your email - the one at gmail....  Complete map set in GPX format with maps, waypoints, tracks, etc.  It will be a lot of BS that you don't want or need.  Import it into the software that should have came with your unit - probably a Garmin Waypoint software and delete what you don't want then download it to your unit.  Or - you can download it directly to your unit and delete it from there.  Lot's of top secret stuff in there too - alt. Area51 sites, Gov't installations, where d-ck Cheeney is at when he's at an "undisclosed location", etc.   - plus the Holy Grail of BIBE and BBRSP     (Just joking).

Need to come up with a naming convention for waypoints that makes sence to you.  Really helps in time savings if you name stuff right to start off with.  Unfortunately, my waypoints date back to the GPS12 which had very limited naming conventions.  I've renamed some.  So, not all of mine will make sence to you.  I try to start out the name of the waypoint with the location - BIBE, BBR, BG, - then some kind of a feature name or something.  Example - BIBEHOTSPRP - would be the Big Bend Hot Springs Primary.  BBRRANCHHQ - would be Big Bend Ranch Head quarters.  You don't have to get too anal with it or anything, but it's easier if you start out on the right foot.

I have a Garmin etrex VISTA. I rarely use it. On my first big return trip to the Park, my main concern was water.  So the coordinates of sources/possible  sources of water went into the unit. The other reason I wanted a GPS unit was to RELOCATE something important, like a recently exposed dino fossil.  Have fun on your trip.

My favorite subject.  Unfortunately I am away from home and using guest computers.  WHen I get back I will send you my .gpx file of stuff.  Have fun.  Maybe we will run into each other this week at BIBE.
