Does the BIBE book store sell them online?  I thought they used to, but I can't find them on their site.

When in doubt go to the source.  In Austin we can get them from Miller Blueprint, an engineering supply store or TNRIS which is a state agency located in the basement of the Stephen F. Austin Building.

But USGS is the source:

Digital versions of just about every current USGS quad for Texas can be downloaded for free from TNRIS, a Texas state agency.

If you look at the "Find Retailer" link, there are a number of private vendors in the Dallas area that should have the topos.

True, but for most folks it's hard to print that big a sheet of paper!

Because they really really really could use your financial support. (really**3)

I'm pretty sure they do have topo's, I know they do have a couple of the large format ones that I recently purchased.

If not, REI "used" to carry Topo's.

My hiking buddy suggests http://www.topozone.com to order specialized customized topos of just what you want.

Or, you can purchase various software programs from Garmin, DeLorme , National Geographic, etc. and print out your own on most sizes of paper.  I saw at REI a while back that they even had specialized map paper that was water resistant/proof.

Be sure and get the 7 1/2 minute maps.  They have the most resolution.  The 15 minute maps have about 1/2 the elevation detail.  Even then you'll occasionally curse the 7.5 minute maps for lack of resolution if you're going cross country.

On line ordering.  All of Mexico in USGS quality detail.  Topographic maps from all over the world.  Easy searching.
Funny... I have a story about that...

Indeed, but with a GPS program -- I use Mac GPS Pro -- and an image editor like Photoshop, you can convert those unwieldy maps into custom 8.5x11 topos, complete with routes and waypoints. A hike to the South Rim takes two USGS quads, but I take one single 8.5x11 sheet of paper!!!
