GPS Maps Questions
« on: January 22, 2008, 05:29:54 PM »
Ok,  I am headed west on Thursday and praying for a monster weather event.  I was down loading my maps to my GPS.  I have the 24k Centeral NPS maps and the Topo 2008 for Garmin.  I have sent overlaping maps to the GPS.  How do I know which map the unit is looking at.

Does the 2008 work to a point the the more detailed map of the 24k take over?  Or do I need to figure out where they overlap and only load one map.

Sorry for all the tech questions.  I am just lucky to make my wireless work.  After this trip I will figure out how to post photos.

A Map Set can contain maps from more than one MapSource product, but if the maps overlap, you will only see data from one of the maps at a time in your GPS device. The maps are not transparent on the GPS device and cannot be combined.

If two maps from different MapSource products overlap, you can turn off the overlapping map in order to see the other map underneath.  You do this in your GPS.

Like I said once before today. If in doubt.........RTFM :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin:
