Importing waypoints in to GPS unit
« on: March 10, 2008, 09:05:51 PM »
I have an excel file with some locations i want to import into my nifty new little GPS device (Garmin 60CSx).

I have the data in 2 formats and want to import all the data, but some program I downloaded called GPS utility can not read the text files.

Datum = WGS84
Pine Canyon trailhead   29°  16.010   103°  13.658

I have this info out of google earth from points I marked on the map

Lat                           Long
29.16608368      -103.6136203            Santa Elena Canyon

can someone give some advice on how to get these points on to my GS unit. I have a lot more points, but just wanted to show an example of the data I have and the format its in

1. Try this http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert

2. Save the file as a .gpx file

3. Open the .gpx file in Mapsource

4. Transfer the waypoints to your 60CSX
