Ok,I am getting ready for my first trip to BB with my new GPS. The 60Csx, how ever trying to up load waypoints from here I can not since they are in different formats.http://www.bigbendchat.com/maps/gm_markers_from_db.php29.43837000 -103.14388000Where mine are inN30 15.325 W97 43.713 (my house)How do I change the setting so they are the same?
The .gpx file I sent you was converted from a csv file using http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert1. I text copied (from screen), the list of waypoints.2. Pasted into excel3. Saved as CSV text file4. Pasted that data into GPSvisualizer file converter5. It spit out the .gpx file, whic can be opened in MapSource.Bob's your uncle
The method using decimals is called Decimal Degrees. The other methods are just different ways of expressing degrees and minutes of latitude and longitude. The UTM is probably the most logical method of locating yourself. It is especially useful for hikers since distance is measured in meters within a zone, rather than the more abstract "degrees" measurement.
Here Try this.Open in Mapsource and send the waypoints to yr GPSMerry Christmas
