USGS Quads Going Up in Price
« on: February 10, 2009, 11:24:51 AM »
For those of you who still rely on GPS 1.0 -- that's a paper map and compass to the uninitiated) -- the US Geologic Survey is increasing the prices of their paper quads by $2 effective March 2 to $8 per quad. Other thematic maps are also going up.

I switched to downloadable (and free) digital maps long ago, but still have a place in my heart for paper quads. Folks who've been to Benders with me at various eating/drinking establishments have seen my red cardboard box full of Big Bend quads, which we study while discussing treks planned and unplanned.

So, for those who like going old-school, now is the time to fill in the gaps in your collection. Orders postmarked by March 2 qualify for the old prices.

Hey Jeff, I resemble that remark  :icon_rolleyes:.

Thanks for the links and the notice, I do lack a few quads on the north end of the park.
