Speaking of technology, there is wifi in the campground (yay? I dunno) but no cell.
Yes AG, thanks a million for the trip report. Desperation had forced me into re-reading old trip reports. So it appears one of your photos includes the bench mark at Lost Peak? This benchmark is indicated on maps, but not on the NGSDataExplorer interactive map.https://www.ngs.noaa.gov/NGSDataExplorer/It would be nice if someone could submit this bench mark to the NGS so they could set up a data sheet for it.Did you take a close-up picture of the bench mark?
Really nice report, AG. Makes me want to be there right now. But I'm still trying to get over this bit:Quote from: austin gorpchomper on May 20, 2018, 12:20:24 PMSpeaking of technology, there is wifi in the campground (yay? I dunno) but no cell. I guess I'm just an old fart. But I'm not opposed to ALL technology. The new lighting in Carlsbad Caverns looks amazing. That must have been added since my last trip there, seven or eight years ago, when I took my kids to climb Guadalupe Peak and then we spent a day at the caverns. Need to get my wife out there, too, She's the only member of the family that has neither summitted the peak nor visited the caverns.
