Any water reports out there?
« on: December 03, 2008, 09:41:20 AM »
Hey folks,
I know that there were a lot of people in the park over Thanksgiving so it would be great to get some spring and water reports for those of us heading into the backcountry in the next few weeks.

I am particularly interested in the tinajas on the Mesa de Anguila and the springs near the Chimneys (Pena, Chimneys, Red Ass, Tule and Burro)

Thanks to all, Mule Ears

No Thanksgiving trip reports (other than Jeff and Ay Chi's, BK and LGK's, and Texas Aggie Hiker's in the Sierra Quemada)? No water reports? No one walked out Chimneys trail, or Burro Spring trail or up onto the Mesa de Anguila? Hmm?  :eusa_think:

I've got a week before I go and would love to have some idea of water out on that side of the park.  :eusa_pray:

Don't know about the other places, but I don't think I would ever count on there being findable--and reachable--water on Mesa de Anguila.
Wake me when it's time to go.

I just got back from the OML.  There were some small muddy pools in Boot Canyon, but not much.  I didn't check Upper Juniper.  I was losing daylight and needed to keep moving.  Fresno creek was flowing nicely.  There were several large pools and strong flow at the crossing on the Dodson.
