small Quemada Spring Report
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:55:37 AM »
Went out to camp a few nights around Tortuga Mt. again and walked by a couple of springs.  First, we cut down the Dodson drainage and passed by the spring that is between the Dodson trail and Tortuga mt.  This spring was flowing almost twice as far as it was when we were there in November.  It must be true that as it has cooled off this winter, water has been able to flow further down the creek before evaporating.

An unmarked spring at the confluence of Fresno creek and the unnamed creek which the ET trail crosses directly under Tortuga mt. is still flowing.  This would be in the Fresno side.  This is the closest water to the upper part of waterworks.

We walked up the before mentioned creek bed which the ET trail crosses and there was water off and on.  Some flowing nicely.

Not seeing Fresno with my own eyes, I would say there has to be water in it.  We basically saw water in the drainages which bracket Fresno to the east and west.

Cookie will offer up a TR later & some pictures later.     :13:
