Landslide on the Window trail
« on: October 28, 2013, 07:10:17 AM »
A few weeks ago on the park website they reported temporarily closing the window trail for a landslide .  Has anyone seen or photographed this ? I haven't heard anything about it.

I didn’t see it in person because of a premature ejection from the park due to the government shutdown, but I asked about it the day after (or two days after) it had happened. The ranger I spoke with said “the debris has been cleared and the trail has been reopened”. The way it was relayed made me think that maybe it was some sediment and/or brush that was blocking the trail and it wasn’t all that difficult to clear out. Either way, I HAD intended to get down there to bring back a firsthand report, and I completely forgot to report back. I’d also be interested if anyone has pics to share from said event!

I intend to be there three weeks from Wednesday and can report back afterwards.  This update is nice though!

Alan, all I'll say is that I don't think I ever had such a "quick" tryst before

Thanks for the video feedback! Wish we had better lighting for some of those encounters, but we're still learning and tweaking how we do what we do!
