I was not expecting any water to be running out of The Window. But much to our surprise, there was a small stream pouring down the rocks and over the cliff! Now I don't want to sound like a skeptic, but I couldn't help but think that the water might be pumped through The Window. The trail crosses a pipe line several times and the first several times it crosses the creek bed, it was dry. Then with about 1/4 mile left of the trail, water is all of a sudden running! Is there a spring that I am not aware of? Could NPS be doing this to impress hikers over spring break?

The last I heard is that there's this wily old ranger who's been pumping water up from the Rio Grande and channeling it to flow over to the window pour-off to impress visitors. I heard it's being done all by man power as well. I think he created some kind of pump from a stationary bike. The location of this "pump house" is hidden....
I could tell you Muse, but I'd have to kill you. The rangers swore me on penalty of death if I ever disclosed the location.
