i have seen that on google earth before and thought nothing of it. I figured it was just a the way the vegetation grew.

I wonder what's causing the vegetation to grow this way? Different soil/moisture content? It's such a distinct area that it really caught me off guard.

On a similar note (sort of)....anyone ever ventured down the canyon located near the green spot....

I think a while ago in a previous GE picture, it was so dark someone thought it was water. I'll see if I can locate that post.

You are most welcome, it's more of a footnote really as it doesn't answer the question. It is a most interesting feature, and I can only guess that it is some sort of geologic formation that has some key nutrient that is vegetation friendly. Perhaps this is a good question for Juan?
