Condolences for you and his family. I agree "there is no right time to die"
I usually go to BiBe in June and July. August is pretty hot but I've gone in August many times. It's a dry heat. As long as the power doesn't go out the ceiling fans in 106 - 1XX keep the room cool. Correct... I stay in the cabins without AC units and I prefer it. They have more room and "feel better". In past times the park was virtually empty. Now that the NPS birthday desecration... oops, I mean celebration, has passed hopefully visitation will return to normal. In June / July the desert "feels like" a desert. It's the monsoon season so the clouds can be glorious. There's nothing quite like the smell of freshly washed desert. And... it's cooler in the Basin than it is here in Weimar, TX. Don't discount the summer months, but don't tell anyone either :)
