what river level causes water to flow over the wall at the hot springs? it would only take a foot of water to flood the pool, and i'm not sure how high it is after all this rain  :(  anyone been down there lately?  it's a nightly ritual when we're in BB to go to the hot springs, and i don't wanna drive from lajitas on thanksgiving to be turned around by high water  :shock:  :oops:

When we were at BIBE back in June, I asked Eric Leonard about Hot Springs.  At the time, the springs were underwater.  He said the benchmark is the river level at Rio Grande Village.  Whenever the river is running 3 feet or higher there, the springs go underwater.

The latest daily report on the BIBE site is from Sunday, and it reported the river level at RGV at 3.1 feet.

The DesertSportsTx Daily Report says it was at 3.04 Monday and 3.00 feet today.

3 feet? good to know  8) i saw the 3.1 on the latest daily, but i had no idea how it related to spring level. thanks guys  :oops:

But, please RichardM, although you are a great moderator and emissary, please don't show up to the hot springs in a speedo or in your emperiors clothes, at least while I'm there.   :P
