Trying to figure you where that second picture was taken...
La Noria?  Don't think it's McKinney Springs or Ernst, but maybe?...been a long time since I have been that way.

My educated guess is Telephone Canyon.  If you'll notice there is a berm or dike on the right of the camp ground which is, I'm pretty sure, the campsite nearest Ore Road at Telephone Canyon.  There used to be some kind of impoundment there.
