My middle son Ron is an Actor/Bartender as almost everyone in Hollywood is, and I can say without a doubt in my mind, if they were filming a movie anywhere in or near BB he would be packed and wating on the other folks to get there. He is co-writer and star in upcoming black comedy called American Cowslip, loves the outdoors. Although we might have poked fun at Indiana, had the lady in question allowed imput to her site, I think she would have found out a great deal about BB and good solid information on camping, enjoying BB and what gear was necessary to have her enjoy the experience.
Having read most of the response to her site from most of her friends, I get the feeling roughing it, would involve the 1.4 million dollar motor coach. Anyway she survived and did not bash BB.

Just got internet service tonight AGAIN! This thread is thoroughly entertaining to say the least!
I have some ex co workers who have pages on the "My Space" Place.....it seems that the more creative and artsy one is, the cooler you are.
I remember sometime in the 80's when I was in a band in NJ and had this cool purple "Tina Turner" wig that I used to wear when I went to clubs. I thought I was cool as hell! So does our moviemaker. 8)
I say, let her come here and check out Big Bend....she may discover more than she bargained for.....realistical
ly and spiritually. This place has a tendency to open up one's perspective on what is

I sent Indi an email asking when the movie would be released and let her know we were enjoying her Big Bend experience...

Shane,
I get to view the final cut this Saturday at the cast/ crew wrap party. It has been submitted to South by Southwest, and upon official selection, it will premiere there in April. In addition, the director tells me that the Sundance short films committee would like it to be submitted in 2007 (for the 2008 festival). The director may have some other things in mind for the film, as well.
Thanks for the nice note.

It's an odd thing- having complete strangers speculate about me. I suppose I should get used to it now that I'm embarking on a career in entertainment, right? Thanks to a Myspace message from Shane, I was amused to read your conceptions of this "pampered princess". I grew up in rural surroundings, but the midwest doesn't have Big Bend's awe inspiring terrain or desert conditions. I was apprehensive to go on the trip mostly because I knew I'd be the least prepared.
The trip was amazing. I only complained when I got cactus needles embedded in my flesh. No one babied me, and by the end of it, I got to say that I pitched my own tent, hiked and rock climbed (in costume, even), and endured quite an unexpected range of temperatures. I came off of this production a changed person, and I have high expectations for our little film.
Do I still prefer a hotel over a tent? Yes. Am I still scared of spiders? Of course! But would I ever go back? Definately. But next time, I'm investing in a sleeping bag that cost more than $7 and some decent hiking shoes.
I admire you outdoor types. Big Bend is beautiful, and I now know why you all love it so much. The photos from my trip are here:

Welcome! I am glad you were amused and not offended. Big Bend is an amazing place and if you ever decide to go back the great people here will give you lots of advice if you want it. There are some wonderful people on this board who are glad to share their love of Big Bend and their experience on how best to enjoy it.
Everyone complains about the cactus, don't worry!

Welcome to the "speculation" chat board!
Boy, did you hit the nail on the head.
It sounds like our lady of the desert treated you fairly, and perhaps gave you a taste of something wonderful....
I wish you luck with your dreams and budding career. 8)
Perhaps you can return and share a special "Big Bend" screening with our community someday?

I did work with Joe. He played my love interest. He was a trip-- singing arias in the canyon, sleeping on a picnic table at night. Also, he tells the best stories.
He also mentioned that you were a leading expert on Big Bend and one of his best friends. My, how the Internet is a small, small world.
