that where I live was undesirable.  The area in the pic is roughly 30 miles down the road. Joining a good athletic operation goes a long way to shorten the Winter. If you're a Mall Monster, you can spend your days down at the Mall of America. If you have enough money, you can spend your Winter elsewhere :)

Did see a couple of snowflakes feathering their way to the ground this AM.  I haven't worn heavy winter clothing for years now.  Occasionally long non-scratch wool underwear and something to protect the ears is necessary.  But I just wear a light Columbian jacket all Winter.  The jacket is the liner for a heavier coat.  But I found the coat was unnecessary.

Oh crap! Forget about Minneapolis. We just got nuked by North Korea. I got lucky; I'm just a little bit tanner as a result.

Ruskies have/had the "Super" something like a 75mt weapon, air deliverable, scaled down model of the 100mt world ender, also air deliverable.  Shattered the uneasy nuke truce back in the 60's.  Teller theorized that a 100mt weapon would blow a huge whole in the ionosphere and basically destory the world.  Of course, several thought the atmosphere might catch fire during Trinity @ Almagorda.

We also have cute big snakes that could kill ya(however, the probability of death by a Timber Rattlesnake bite is very low with proper medical attention).

Okay, so how did the lighter get put there? Is that puppy stuffed or just conveniently slithered up to the item?

Actually, presidio, the cig lighter was stuffed and found itself in that position by way of a stick as I recall. These snakes can be found in SE MN along the Mississippi River and streams and rivers that flow into the Mississippi down there. The closest population of these snakes from Minneapolis is ~25 miles from here on the Wisconsin side along the St. Croix River/Kinnickinnic River. But that's a very small population.

Here's a rough Timber Rattlesnake distribution map presented by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation:

I forgot to show you the aftermath of the N. Korean bombing.  At this point the cloud has drifted over the NW suburban area.

That cartoon of Kim Jung Il is classic!! LOL! At least he didn't threaten to bomb Lake Wobegon.

You should draw a cigarette dangling from the rattler's mouth. Then people wouldn't question how the lighter got there.
