phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

My server provider has been having communication problems with connecting to the database server for the past several days. Today it seems to be more of a problem.  I'm on it, but don't have any answers yet.

thanks and sorry,
david

We need a pronunciation guide for this one. Is it 'fifpbub' or 'feepbib' and does the inflection go the second or last consonant.

It probably means something in Polish

????? ????

Aw, it was just a reference to the fact that Polish uses almost no vowels. Since they were left over, the Hawaiians picked them up, and use few consonants.

Thus, you have conservation of the alphabet, no messy letters left over, lying about unused.

PHP, or Hypertext Preprocessor, is a dynamic and extremely versatile scripting language for web servers.  The webserver calls upon a "page" script along with about a half dozen other scripts, a database, and ingeniously on the fly creates a basic HTML layout for you to see all happening in an instant.  The BB stands simply for bulletin board.   PHP is designed to be integrated with the fabulouso (in my opinion) mySQL database.  Since this bulletin board is scripted using PHP, you get PHPBB. PHPBB is one of the many outstanding bulletin boards out there on the market and this one happens to be open source meaning it is free and I can change the scripting anytime I want. :)
