I was surprized at the size of this scat compared to my size 12 boot.  Given the quantity shown in the second picture - - - is it coyote?

I am guessing that pic #1 is burro. Pic #2 is a real mess!!! Coyote crap almost always has a pronounced tail.

Javelina. Javelinas are very social creatures and are serious creatures of habit that establish foraging territories that they traverse daily. They also establish bedding locations that are used daily. Around their bedding locations, they typically leave communal "dumps" like the one in pic 2. Notice that the scat is full of fibrous plant material. Javelinas forage heavily on prickly pear, so their scat is usually dense with plant fibers. I suppose this is the point for someone to take this thread on a discussion of a high fiber diet?

Looking thru a field guide on scat, I have to agree that it's Javelina scat.

My wife kept walking into the room and was wondering what was so fascinating about javelina dung. I couldn't explain it.

I was wrong to doubt that it is Javelina poop.  My wife, who doesn't even like BiBe, walked by and asked what it was.  I told her and she said it was obviously poop from a vegetarian.  Didn't look so much like vegetarian plops to me more like elongated feces from at least an omnivore thus the coyote guess.  

Shows you what I know . . .
