I'm always checking the weather.  I have been watching the forecasted snow in GUMO next weekend when I'll be there...seeing how long it stays in the forecast..

Forcast for central Texas looks pretty bad for the next few days.... be safe everybody. Crazy weather last night, my wife and I awoke to the sound of a train :shock: , turns out a Tornado came through san marcos. Intersate is closed and lots of damage around town including the 911 dispatch center. I'll try and get out to take some pictures later but I'm sure the news stations will take care of that.

Well than I have to be the nuttiest member of this chat board, I am making plans to get in the middle of the worst weather possible for this weekend. La Fragua Dam.

  I can´t explain why, but i like the worst possible conditions to be out. The challenge to be outside......I don´t know, maybe I am just Pinche Loco or somehting......go figure :!:

I too like the bad weather Homero! I love nature and all the crazy kinds of weather that comes along with it! :D Just remeber to never underestimate what nature and the weather is capible of.

I don't mind being out in the bad weather either.  Probably comes from all the bad weather camping I did when I was a kid.  There was a stretch of 7 or 8 years of about 10 camping trips a year when I was growing up.  Seems like about 60% of the time it was raining, cold, or both.  No trips were ever canceled because it might rain, no trips ever canceled because it was "too cold".  I remember doing weekend trips where it rained the whole time, setting up tents in the sleet, waking up to a foot of snow, it didn't matter.  always had fun (and still do!).  I know how you feel Homero, I like the challenge too.

Good going, Homero!  Living life on the edge is not a bad thing.  It can get the adrenalin going.

They are saying it will be 43 tomorrow morning here...hard to believe as it is 74 right now...

The "psychic" weather people say we are due for an ice storm here in the Piney Woods of East Texas, (sorry, I forgot what the "new" mantra is supposed to be that replaced "The Piney Woods" or "Behind the Pine Curtain").  Charged up the generator battery, fired up the chain saw and adjusted it, and am ready for the power outages that are supposed to be coming this way.

Nothing but rain here (and lots of it!).  Last night they were making all sorts of dire predictions.  Took my dog for a walk earlier, didn't see a lick of ice!

water dish has been frozen for two days and it looks like three more before we reach freezing again.

And every time I feed the dogs, a thousand starlings descend and eat all their food!

Current temp. here: 54 F...expecting some freezing rains..must be the ones coming from Austin... . Not cold enough, yet.

  Just returned from a night at La Fragua Dam...it was cold. And remember: The colder it gets, the warmer you sleep . Slept like a log. Wonderful :!:  :!:

yucky roads here this morning, my 20 mile drive to work took 1 hour 10 minutes.  Still cold, (25F at 10am) but thankfully the precip is now moving off in Shane's direction.  :P
