but thankfully the precip is now moving off in Shane's direction.  :P

Just a feeling, this is going to be nasty.  Had like 3" of rain Friday night, 4" Saturday, and 2" since yesterday.  Freeze the trees around here and off goes the power.

How soon I forget what it's like to live in the trees.  Stay warm.

Nasty habit of the trees around here is that when the ground is saturated and ice accumlates or the wind blows, the trees just "fall over" at the base and roots.  Nothing like having 100' + oaks n my backyard and across the street.  Slice through the house like swiss cheese    "duck and cover"

10 to 1...I rather have this weather. Right now is : 3° C here, winds 17 KPH, just like in England...than being under 112° F in the summer...10 to 1 :!:

More sleet here this morning, didn't expect that.  It's snowing west of here, supposed to move in here in the next couple hours.  Not feeling lucky today, going to work from home!

Got a call from friends who moved to McAllister, OK last year.  They've been without power since last Friday;  estimated 2 weeks until power restored.  They're going to stay with family in Dallas.

No ice here along the coast in Corpus.  Temps staying in the mid 30s (about the same as Homer) with light rain off and on.  Lousy weather but nowhere near as bad as most of you are having. Stay safe.

Its been nice for the neglected shrubs to hang over conveniently for trimming.

I regret not getting a picture of a small pour off in the neighborhood with icicles on the nearby vegetation and water vapor rising...brought back memories of Yellowstone in the winter...sort of...

All in all, I'll be happy to get back to work, though I did find this site...not a bad weekend of goofing off.
