Snapped this in Google Earth just West of FM 1053:

...I think I'll take FM 1053 to Ft. Stockton on my next trip...

Trail? What trail?

I know this is an ancient thread, but just wanted to note that I also missed the turn heading south out of Ft Stockton towards Marathon back in Feb when I made my first visit to BIBE.  Very poorly signed from either direction... you'd think they would have fixed that by now.

I'd rather be on the South Rim

Most of Fort Stockton's southern roads funnel into 385 eventually, so I've always thought of "The Turn" as being overrated. Most of the time, I take Colpitts Blvd, which deadends into 194 right about the point where 385 turns off to the south.
