Dripping Spring to Slickrock Canyon

Last month, I was camping at Paint Gap No. 3. I hiked from the campsite thru the Gap out to the old ranch ruins at Dripping Spring. After exploring the ruins for awhile, I hiked west cross country to a point some where near Onion Spring. Croton Peak could be seen in the distance. I started thinking that this might be an interesting future hike to Slickrock Canyon, then my cell phone rang. Go figure. I think there must be a cell tower at Terlingua Ranch, which I could see north of my position.
Anyway, once I got home, I checked topos for the area and it looks like it can be done.
If anyone has hiked this area, I would appreciate any information you could share. Thanks.

You should PM OKiehiker about it if he doesn't post on this thread or look up his post from last Christmas about this area - he hiked from Slickrock over through Dripping Spring... TWWG

I love the area in the NW part of the park. Onion Flat, the flanks of Croton Peak, the Oak Creek, Rough Run and Cottonwood drainages are all interesting.

This link is to the second page of the trip report from Christmas. There is a link on it to some pics from the Onion Flat area. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks TheWildWestGuy.
Okiehiker I appreciate the link. The trip report and photos were great! I started reading the whole trip report and checking out the photo links. It makes me want to leave for the Park now. I'm going to read your trip report again, study my topos, and then PM you with any questions. Thanks again for the help.
