Excellent, thanks Homero. Did you see the February issue of National Geographic? It had a nice article (mostly photos) of the 5 protected areas of the region (BBNP being one of them). The photos were awesome.

 I think we will, not far from now,but it is going to take a lot to get there: High clearance vehicle, a very good winch, ofcourse 4x4 capabilities,and most important a permit from CEMEX's Program Director. Billy Pat Mckinney.

  They are NOT going to build any roads,cabins, RV hookups or anything like that. As Pristine as it can be; if they are going, in time, to re-introduce the Mexican Wolf and the Grizzly Bear. The only thing keeping them from doing it, is they are waiting for the other species to thrive: Pronghorns, Big Horn Sheep. They already have going Elk, Carmini White Tail, Carmini Mule Deer and other species. With big success.

 I was reading Patricio Roblesgil's book The Call of the Mountains, last night.  Page 194: " There are many sheer and inaccesible peaks That  only Eagles have conquered " and i know it is a HUB for Peregrin Falcons and the passing Monarch Butterfly......Wow :!:

  If he starts to post around here, he will be a much welcomed contributor. He has travel much of the Sierras, and is very close to some spectacular sights in Sierra de Santa Rosa. I truly hope , he will post pictures of the vecinities , for you to enjoy.

Bienvenidos, Jaime. Ojala que un dia podria encontrarle in los montanas en Mexico or Big Bend. I grew up in Del Rio and have been to Sabinas many times working on ranches. Maybe we can meet this summer when I go visit my folks in July.

Oh?...you have worked in ranches in Sabinas? . I for one , would like to know more of this : where exactly and who were the  owners..maybe it is a small world after all.

Our family business was water pumps, irrigation, windmills, etc. We worked all over Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, out toward Torreon and even down to Guadalajara (I didn't get to go on that one unfortunately). Names I don't remember-that was 35 years ago and I was in high school and college. I'll ask Dad for names this summer. We might know some people in common. We lucked out and got in with Gov. Tapia in the 70's and did a lot of government work.
