One week from right now I will be cruising to BB!

As usual, "Scope Hauler", my little PT Cruiser (turbo, hence the hauler part of her name), will be packed to the gills with telescope and camping gear for a 5 night stay in the park.

Since I try to stay up all night looking at faint fuzzies, weather permitting, I don't have any hard and fast plans for the days other than try to relax and rest up for the next night's observing. To that end I have some books to read for entertainment and some crossword puzzles to work for brain exercise.

I have a new wide angle lens for the camera, a new 2GB memory card, an external battery pack for lots of power and some new software to allow me to try time lapse movie making. I guess I'll be focusing (pun intended) on doing some photography during the days.

Given the state of my bad knees, I'm thinking I'll try a couple of desert hikes to stay on fairly flat ground. I last hiked to the Chimneys 12-14 years ago so I plan to do that one morning before the heat sets in. Likewise, I last hiked to Devils Den (or was it Dog Canyon?) many moons ago and didn't get to explore too much that time. I may try a morning hike there to explore and take pictures.

Other than the above, I plan to hang out, stay in the shade as much as possible and just relax and enjoy the calming affect that BB has on the soul!

Cool!  Sounds like you have a great trip planned.  Please post the pictures and trip report, as usual, for our enjoyment!
