Aggiehiker & Cactusboy..that makes 10, a perfect number to start a jeep trail.

To all of you, you have just convince me to organize something deemable worthy to come and visit. I do appreciate your confidence in me, to take you in to the mountains of Northern Mexico.

To do this , the proper way will take time , to organize the trip , to set the minimum requirements to bring your vehicle , minimum camping equipment and so forth.

I am amazed that so many people express interest in traveling over here and explore these beautiful mountain sights, makes me admire more the American adventure spirit and with confidence i can say that when we are ready , we can be sure we will offer something for you.

I have taken in mind all of your comments regarding the type of vehicle you have, the distance to travel from your homes to Piedras Negras and then to the destination site(s) and have come to the conclusion that there is many logistic questions to be adressed .

As far as volunteers , on this side , i can say i have more than enough to count. All eager and ready to help out our neighbors to the north in having an outstanding experience in the backcountry.

I could not possibly invite any of you to a trail where the roads would be , somewhat extreme if i know you have never done this before. At our last trail, El Coahuilon , there was a guy who showed up at camp very early next day with his Isuzu, did not checked it for mechanical certifications by any of us and when we were going up hill on a steep road, while backing a little bit to go around a big boulder he lost his brakes and went in reverse full speed raming us upfront. I thank God we were " ready" to recieve him having a Bull bar at front of the truck and stopped him from going over the edge. Belive me , WE DONT NEED THESE EXPERIENCES.

When we travel in a caravan we always look out for each other, usually this means having experinced drivers upfront, in the middle and the very end of the trail leading , steering and pushing the folks coming for the very first time. There are also trail rules & regulations to be adressed to comply them and enforce them every time.

With this said, i will discuss this with Casa Grande further more and start working on the details to consider such a trip.

I look forward to seeing the best pictures , movies and comments from all of you in this board, about your Mexican experince and to do so , we have to take it in stride to come with a final date to offer it to you.

I have not forgotten about the passport issue as well. I have 2 daughters who are U.S. Citizens and will have to issue them passports as well for their crossings here. And I can´t forget about our friend in Kuwait: Tinneyr who started this thread and include him as well.

Now, for that Peak Bag :?: . ...You can peak as much as you want as far as you want. The elevation will tend to hold you back a bit, remember that when we went there we were over 2 miles in the sky: 3,500 mts. above sea level.
