Big Bend ....from the Mexico Side...and then some !!!!!!!!!!

  This TOPSIDE at El Cañon del Jardin,,,i have a surprise for you all: See that big mountain on the foreground?...at the very end?....CHISOS MOUNTAIN.

  Once on top,and after our adrenaline shot from conquering the Canyon,we headed to our campsite and set up camp.Check out all the surroundings...PRISTINE, ALL AROUND.

 Elevation here was at 1890 meters above sea level.

  Once , we set up camp..dozed over for the night,in the morning we couldn't have breakfast due to the fact we wanted to go for some more,the trip, the canyon,the topside,base camp,surrounded by cedars..what else could we ask for?

 Couple of our fellow members with their sons & daughters.Check out all the cedar around us. Elevation: 1750 mts. above sea level..we went down for base camp after we got over the Cañon del Jardin...curious fact.

  We strapped ourselves on our vehicles,we checked our cameras & video, we had breakfast,we were ready to see the BIG surprise...what a view.

 The view from a top was AWSOME, the elvation was over 2,190 meters above sea level, the range of the vista unimaginable..breat htaking...and dam cold, let me add: 4-6 degrees centigrades above zero and gusting winds abvg. 30-40 K/ph.

  Never had an idea, that we would go to he very top of Sierra del Carmen...Thank you for the unexpected surprise Mr. Jose Uñate,tour guide fron Las Norias.

  The Boquillas valley is hughmongus...see all the valleys and mountain tops every where...can you to the very foreground ...all., the way to the deep end?...Los Chisos Mountains.

 Note of history: During the last 9,000 years to the present , all this valley was populated by Chiricauas,Comanche and Chisos indians ..known as Prehistoric Indians or Paleo-Indians. We didn't get an opportunity to see any rock drawings or paintings,but they are there some wheres...just a matter of looking around and finding them.

When we were returning , we stopped for some more photos...this is Sierra Maderas El Carmen, this way above Sierra del Carmen or El Jardin. The very top of those mountains is the reservation area administered by the CeMex group...all the live species,all the flora,surprising spring water wells and a lake ...awaits us some time in the future. We have to lobby to get permission to go up there. Elevation at the very top:2,700 meters.

   All this forms what the Mexican authorities call the Natural Corridor for the Black Bear and Mountain Lion. Those beautiful animals your seeing in Big Bend,guess where are they coming from?....Saludos

  Well this a picure of Me,thoght i could share my experience with you all, off the Mexican side of the Big Bend. AS you can see,everything is pristine,little or No civilization welcomes us. The environment is expected,all natural and i hope, i have contributed in someway to help you understand, there is a beautifll place , also, across from the border.

Homero, I'm just lovin the Jeep caravan up the mountains! Looks like a wonderful trip with the sons and daughters too....I wish I could bring my sons to the Big Bend.....perhaps someday I hope! Also looks like y'all can rival ShaneA with the camp setup! LOL Although I'm sure there were no coffe bean grinders?

I used to have a manual coffee bean grinder that I got from the REI for backpacking I guess.  After I discovered electricity in the field via. Honda, well, just had to upgrade to a coffee grinder  :lol:   Gotta have that first cup of fresh ground coffee in the morning.  In fact, I just got the coffee ready for in the morning!   :lol:
