FBBNP Seeks Full-Time Executive Director
UPDATE 4/25/07:  Friends of Big Bend received numerous applications for the position of Executive Director.  Final interviews of the top candidates will be conducted in early May.  It is hoped that a Director will be hired and begin working for FBBNP by early June.  Check back here for news of the position being filled.

Unless you are sandbagging us and are on the short list, they have contacted everyone who applied to let them know whether they would be intereviewed or not.

I can assure you that they have not contacted me, thus I assume I'm not on the short list or the long list, even though I must say I turned in one heck of an Executive Credentials Package with a lot of high-power letters of recommendations, etc.

I must have spent 20 hours plus on this credentials file.  I wanted/want that job so bad, but alas I don't believe that will be the case.  They are wanting, from what I understand, someone with proven fund raising experience with lots of deep pocket contacts.  I guess good business and management skills, very good communication and computer skills, and a passion for BIBE wasn't enough.

Actually, I learned  from the very early stages back long ago that I wasn't going to be on the short list.

BTW - while on the topic of 501c type of organizations, may I suggest taking a look at www.guidestar.com and www.give.com.   "Basic" information at Guidestar is free just for signing up and will give you access to the 501c Form 990 filed with the IRS.

It took them a long time to let me know...  found out about two weeks ago
