I don't have any pics of the actual campsite, but I do have an interactive pic of the area here: http://www.virtualbigbend.com/tour/paint_gap

I have stayed at PG2 and 3.  I like the sites but 2 and 3 are too close together.  I suppose I would take 3 as it is the last site before you get to the "4x4" area of the road.  There is a great vista (as seen in the Panorama) up the hill from the site.  PG4, although I have never stayed there, it's not my cup of tea as you're down in a pit with no view stuck in between two hills.  PG1 is probably good too, but not far enough away.

The view of the Chisos and the Sunset reflecting off of them in the evening are outstanding from PG1-3!!

The slightly bigger version of the PG4 picture is currently on this page.

Thanks a lot guys.  The view and proximity to other sites are what I'm most interested in.  Viper, good to know there's a nice vista near PG4....nice photos.

As per usual...that interactive is amazing.  I love the full screen mode, it really takes you there.

These are Paint Gap #1 or #2 - I can't remember which.  Our favorite is #4 but it was occupied.  Good dark place and open sky for a telescope.  Flat, level ground for a tent.  No shade whatsoever.
