So we headed over again to the bridge to capture the official destiny captured by a group picture. They wanted to hit the road real quick, push pedal to the metal so there was not a chance to say goodbye to Fred Keller.

I MADE IT...LA LINDA...I REALLY DID IT :!:  :!: ..... Everybody was feeling great, after all that we have been thru. Of course, ther was reason to celebrate.

I was hesitant to upload this picture...but !!!

I really really tried to get to the Church , it was an obligated stop to go there, tour inside get some pictures and capture it for the first time, so to speak. But the road to the Church , was next to impossible to get there: alot of wash offs, grown desert plants, no visible road to followand was confusing at times to see it in one place, follow a barely visible road and then to miss it completely.

We even got one of the trucks stuck in the river banks, with sand all over it. It manged to get off by itself, but i had to call it quits and maybe return another day to capture it , by my self. Bummer cry  :!:

There is always more to do.  I just want to know how y'all carried all that gas/fuel for such a long trip, and of course how your truck is doing . . .

So we left La Linda in our backs !!!...reflecting along the dirt bumpy road what we had accomplish during the last three days. Everyone was really celebrating, hi fiing everyone, yelling, jumping at ever techstop, joking ...really feeling happy for themselves. But htere was one more surprise , i had under my sleeve..hehehehe    :!:

We were on our way to Military Station El Melon.

The sky was turning grey...thunderstorm s were being heard from afar...out yonder to be exact !!

I had seen this part of the siewrras before #-o ...whre was it?...where was it?

I could not exactly put the place on my head...but all i could think off, was Google Earth :-k

Of course :!:  :!: ...MADERAS EL CARMEN...Of course, just this was the back part. I have seen the front face, and now i was in the back face. AWSOME...My favorite Sierra Vista.

And like the Book The Call of The Mountains states: It is a mountainous system where, like Sieera del Burro , has its own weather climate year round, and it was raining on top . We recieved some rain drops from the gathering storms...they were really thundering that day.

If we would stayed any longer there, we would have been caught in some real bad weather, like you could not believe it being in the desert, and all these forest areas just a couple of miles on top.

That is one narrow bridge.

Of course Al, and Vicent T...it was simple: The trucks carried it for us, we never hussle a can of gas on our backs. We were prepared for everything. Over prepared if you aske me, but out there in the middle of nowhere, you are never over prepared.

My truck. Iwent back there on Tuesday after we came back Sunday in the afternoon, and had already called my mechanic, relagated him the problem and on Monday morning i went over to Autozone to pick up the parts i was going to need. I took many pictures of the tire , for him to see the problem. He inmediately called a buddy of him, who specializes in 4x4 undercarriage, organize the trip back and on Tuesday at noon, headed back to my truck, it was around 1 pm.

We arrived at 5:15 pm central, inmediatelly they went to work on it, Nothing was missing, i could not believe it. I made a good lunch, we clean the grill and the plates right off, had a great talk and were out of the place by 8:30 pm , heading back home. We got to arrive , because we drove very slowly since one of the brakes in the back axle started to breakdown because of the over use. So we ended arriving Home in Piedras Negras at 4: am Wednesday morning...totally Beat.

Today,Tuesday i went over to pick up the truck after much machining, upgrading, replacing many parts and bring it up to modern days. I finished my truck and i am rady to hit the trails soon. Not real soon, since i have been swamped with work and barely have i been able to finish this trip report..so maybe by Octuber or Novemeber i might be able to go out again.

We reached the end of the dirt road.It ends precisely at Military Station El Melon, where the last stand of the law rests, any bad dealings, cattle stealings, drug runnings are reported at .

If you follow back the white trail, it drives back 4 hours stright to La Linda...4 hours away, and had just touched the half of the way back home.

Our good deed of the day: On our way back, we stumble with these people. They had been left behind at La Linda. They were going to cross over to reach Fort Stockton, and get work there. They were swindle with $ 800.00 dlls  ahead..it was $ 3,200.00 dlls in all . They were told to stay put , while the guys who were going to take them across, got over to the bridge to see if the coast was clear. They neer returned for them, they had been 2 days going with out water or food.
We ave them water,a dn took them along. They were really dehydrated.

I managed to sneak some picture fo EL MELON, since the soldiers would not let me get pictures of the place..oh well, just a couple, i never told them anything.

The best i could do, with getting too much attention in the place, and then i would get the soldiers to take my camera away.. here it is with the Sierra La Encantada on the background...beauti full !!

In a way, I understood them: We were very tired, bloated and cosntipated . 3 days with out going to the bathroom, it can be a burden, we were missing our families, we wanted to go back...but I pushed them one more time, one worth their while move to the place it is called...EL TUNEL !!!

I could not forgive myself , if i did not take them there. It was worth the while to get there.
