Just tell her that you saved $94.99+ compared to buying a new one.
And you can always fall back on " Honey, I think I know a guy in Fort Worth that'll give me $44.44 for it." :)

Congrats. Please send $45 to Casa Grande AKA David Locke via paypal or mail - I've already covered the shipping. Be sure to let him know what address to mail it to.
Thanks...

a bit heavier than I thought, but that's a good thing for stability. it weighs about the same as my walking stick. I will let you know when i'm in the field and have used it at it intention.

So, you had a chance to field-test it yet?

sorry, forgot to report back.
I have used it well.
Pros-fairly stable, light enough for trekking, heavy enough for weapon, easy and quick to use
Cons-works well only on flat surfaces (~.5 inches of adjustment on feet), might be heavy for some.
It weighs approximately the same as my Leki Super Malaku pole and Velbon mini-tripod. i shoot some macro, so the tripod is better for that. Unfortunately, I left the mini-tripod on the side of the 118 in January.

For only about $40 more (plus shipping) you can get the
VersaMount
add-on for macro work.
