24 hours...Two weeks...

Here we go! 24 hours(or less) to go before I leave for two weeks in Texas...Most of which will be centered on the bend. I've had to shift gears a bit, as originally this trip was earmarked to shoot my film...But due to extenuating circumstances, I'm turning it into something a little more relaxed, and SOLO, for the first time.... Expect, however, massive, wide-ranging trip reports with LOTS of pix and video. May spot a couple of you there---Cin-Dee? Stingrey? anyone else? Where's the 'cactus cheers' when you need 'em?
Anyway, MANY MANY thanks beforehand for all the knowledgeable advice you've given me to prepare for this trip...Even though this will be my 6th trip there, and my 10th BIBE anniversary, I now have so many new places to check out...And it means the world to me. :cactuscheers:

Sorry about the movie thing....but you will really be able to enjoy yourself it seems.
Oh, and if you're looking for stingrey he''ll be the one driving around in the Acura at night real slow with the high intensity lights....

OK...I'm back, but so swamped that it'll take a couple of days for the full report. Here's the brief:
Spent 5 days out of 14 in BIBE proper, and since I was solo, saw most all of what I wanted to see on this trip...Didn't shoot much video in the end, but the site research was invaluable....Hooke
d up with Stingrey and his bud Scott and did some great hikes...lots of fun. Also found out that McTullis is a friend-of-an-old-friend!!! Who Knew?
Anyway...Pictures galore, will have to do some sorting and tweaking first...And, of course....the report itself will take a while....
More later!!!

Devils Den is up by Dog Canyon...in the northern part of the park. You hike across the desert until you reach a dry wash...go left and you reach Dog Canyon...go right and you get to Devils Den.
I headed to DD last month but didn't quite get there. I did make it to DC and had a magical encounter with thousands of Monarch butterflies. That more than made up for not reaching DD.
