It's been 2 months since I was last in BB. Time to lock in the spring trip!

I like to go around new moon to maximize stargazing so I looked at March and April dates near new moon. I then went to Recreation.gov to see if one of my favorite sites in the Basin was available. The site I really wanted wasn't available either month; it's popular! After some back and forth, I've reserved one of the other sites for April 2 - 5. BB here I came...again!!

I'm thinking about a run to Davis Mountains SP for two days before dropping on down to BB. Good observing up on Skyline Drive in Davis Mountains.

Anyway, I now have something to look forward to over the winter and early spring. That's a good thing!

Ft Davis is well worth the visit. I spent two days there after a trip to BIBE a couple of years ago. The campsites are pretty and the hiking is great. I hiked over the hill to the fort and spent several hours exploring there. Take your food with you as there is very little to buy in Ft. Davis.
