If you have to ask you can't afford it!  Based on the numbers in the ad about 8 mpg which isn't too bad for something that size.

8 mpg and it's a manual! The automatic trans model must get about 6 mpg.  icon_eek

Guess it would be hard to find someone to service it if you broke down on the OOR.

R2D2 is almost paid for and so is the Avalanche.  I think I'll stay with what I have, unless you are buying...   icon_lol

Nice, I like the high clearance option, especially for BigBend Camping.

Good morning.  I would not be the owner of a pop-up unless it was the off-road model.  eusa_angel I saw them first at a boat show in Houston.  At the time I was more interested in the Jayco BAJA edition, but after seeing this with the shower/toidy and front end storage area, I was sold.  It meets all of my requirements perfectly.  There have been a few on the board that have had the pleasure of bunking in the R2D2 (nickname a friend gave it) and can testify as to it's comforts.  It takes about as long to setup as a good full sized tent.  All the comforts of home.  I bunked in it for an extended stay at Big Bend when I did a volunteer stint.  Mind you, I wouldn't want to live in it full time, but it is comfortable and the AC keeps it cool in the dead of summer.  There are other off-road models out there from Jayco, Fleetwood, etc.  Some friends of mine got a Chalet and had it modified to off-road.

The pics below are from Big Bend Ranch State park.  The one advantage that the Chalet has over the Starcraft is that it sets up a lot quicker, but there is a huge trade-off on living space.

Click HERE for an R2D2 tour...

Saw a unimog several years ago in BiBi, 6mph sounds good, it will go almost anywhere and again if you ask the price you cannot afford it.  Try EarthRomer.com at a little over $325,000 rolling
