One of the pics reminds me of a scene out of Pappillion.  Another place I have yet to visit, Monahans Sandhills State Park

I spent a night at Monihans years ago. Good for a change of pace compared to most parks. I've been to Great Sand Dunes NP in CO several times...Monihans is puny in comparison. Still, Monihans is worth a stop if it's on your way.

Stopped there on a West Tx trip a few years back.  Had a great time, legs aching from climbing up the hills. One step up, two slides down.  Just remember, its best if you take a shower right after youre done playing...  eusa_shifty

I visited Monahans right after it rained ... wet sand is not much fun though it was beautiful
