I've also done it in a Mazda B3000 4WD pickup.

If you've ever driven mountain pass roads in Colorado or forest service/BLM roads in their respective backcountry areas, then Black Gap Road is a breeze.

Made me laugh, although I probably would've added "or are you just happy to see me?"   The Discovery doesn't look 20 years old, so I assume you meant the AK-47 trip was 20 years ago?  Whatever, tbone's probably had his/her fun for the week and will wait for another opportunity to jump in with more off-topic discussion.

Yes that's correct, it was nearly 20 yrs ago I had the AK in the back of my Nissan Pathfinder when I went. I can assure you there was no AK in the DII in the photo. When my son was born, my wife asked me to sell all my guns. I did, except a shotgun that my dad gave me. I recently acquired a target pistol since my son is now leaving for college next year.

I was told by another Land Cruiser club member that the park had put concrete down on the trail.. never would have believed that your Rover there was on Black Gap. So I guess that's the concrete....

Here's my Land Cruiser. It's in the middle of modifications as I write this, however this is how it looked going over the roughest parts of Big Bend in March. I have 32" tires (BFG Rugged Trails).
