Hmmm......I wonder if I should mention this to the person who placed it in their trip report.  eusa_think

Or at least let us know which report it was in.  I came in late and am just a bit confused at this point.  I tried searching for the reports with tinajas but came up empty other than the usual tinajas.

Richard, it was actually on another site. No worries as far as this site is concerned.

Um, yeah, CM already explained it for me.  Only reference I found of it on the web was this report.  All you can tell from that report is it's somewhere south of Tinaja Grande.  The author didn't label any pics as the tinaja in question (although I might have missed it), although he has a pic of the canyon below it here and here.  If the tinaja isn't on any maps, maybe that is its real name?  icon_eek

I'm assuming this pic is of Tinaja Largo.

I am curious if that is why it doesn't appear on any of the maps as well.  eusa_think Is Tinaja Largo on any of the maps?
I am going to pickup the Mesa de Anguila quad this week. I'll take a look.

Please eusa_pray...not yet: We are all here getting a kick out of it, as we speak. Tomorrow will be another day.

But honestly, I thought it resembled a rock formationfrom Grapevine Hills...if not mistaken. rolling

Okay Homero, For you I'll hold off then.
You've earned a good laugh, what with Connie unjustly
attacking you in that other thread.

eusa_shhh Mum is the word for the time being.

I believe there is a description of locations for both tinajas in Parent's book. Look in the Mesa de Anguila section. Just read it a couple of days ago.
I've got the 1996 version of Hiking Big Bend by Parent and didn't see either of these mentioned.  Which version do you have?

Tinaja Lujan can be found on the Mesa De Anguila USGS quad topo map. Tinaja Lujan is a lake in Brewster County in the state of Texas.

Quote
Anglers who have fished Tinaja Lujan are invited to submit reviews of the lake.

Wow, to think I never knew you could go fishing up on the Mesa. They also have Blanca, Grande, and Rana listed. But no Vega or Largo.

The trip report mentioned and linked in a previous post mentioned Tinaja Alphonso (aka Tinaja Smugglers) which I haven't heard of before either.

Tinaja Largo and Tinaja de la Vega don't show up on the USGS quad I picked up this week.
