labor day trip
«

Greetings to all!
I had a trip planned for the first week in October, but now am looking at Labor day weekend (due to work schedule). Is it really crowded during this time (maybe I answered my own question)? Would be planning to arrive the 8/29 (Thursday).

I'd rather be on the South Rim

You should be fine. Peak visitation periods are spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Year's.

I can't speak from personal experience, but I read that Aug in Big Bend can be rainy at times. Maybe it's those type of rains where it pours for a few minutes, then the sun pops back out...?

August is the wettest time with a whopping 2.35 inches average monthly rainfall. But June is the hottest!
