The new issue of the Friends of Big Bend Newsletter should be in your snail mail box soon.

In a very unusual move for me, I have requested permission to scan and post the newsletter.   If permission is granted, I shall post.

Best Regards...

I just joined Friends last month and I sent off a letter asking to have it sent electronically. Maybe if enough of us request it, they'll do it.

I have been told that the newsletter will not me in PDF or electronic format as they will distribute it at various events, etc.  On the other hand, if you send money to Environment Texas  icon_wink you can request a PDF version only w/o having them to incur printing/mailing costs.  www.environmenttexa s.org

I will not be scanning or publishing the Friends of Big Bend Newsletter as it is for members only and requires permission of the Board of Directors PR Committee..  They may publish it to their website on a delayed basis.

Thanks for trying, Shane. It appears the Friends are closing ranks. They will no longer send the newsletter to non-members, citing the higher publication costs for switching to a four-color newsletter. Why it needs to be in color is beyond me, but that's the way they wish to spend their funds.

BTW, aside from that item, the only other things I remember from reading mine is they allocated funds for a theater-type space in the PJ visitor center and a recap of their February guided trip to Mariscal Mine.

Yep, those electronic copies are pretty pricey to crank out. eusa_doh
