Did You Know?The second largest flying animal ever documented on the planet was found in Big Bend National Park. Fossilized remains of the pterosaur Quetzalcoatlus northropi, with a wingspan of 35 feet, were first found in the park in 1971.

Did You Know?Ward Mountain (6,925'/2,111m), which forms the southern boundary of "The Window" is named for Johnnie Ward, a cowboy who worked for the G4 ranch in the Big Bend area in the mid-1880s.
