I've never stayed there myself, but I've heard more than a few negative reviews.  However, it looks like changes are coming.

Big Bend Motor Inn has been sold to Forever Resorts.

Good changes I'm sure.  Forever Resorts runs some nice places.

I think this is a more important pick from the paper.

"Retirement Planning
If you had purchased $1000 of Nortel stock one year ago it would now be worth $49.00 With Enron you would have had $16.50 of the original $1000
With WorldCom, less than $5.00. Delta Airlines stock would be worth $49.00
But, if you had purchased $1000 worth of beer or wine, drank the beer or wine and then turned the cans or bottles in for the aluminum/glass recycling refund, you would have $214.
Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
