I didn't have any flower shots handy, so I snapped one this morning in our front yard flower bed while waiting for my wife.  She informed me it's not a bluebonnet, but I can't remember what she said it is.

The leaves and flowers appear to be that of a bluebonnet

The garden center where she bought the seeds said it was "blue salvia".  Either that or that's just what she remembers.

I'm thinking it's a regular bluebonnet and she forgot.

Richard, as you age will you learn perhaps not to question one's spouse so readily (at least on Sunday evening).

Lupinus micranthus

may be a better guess than Lupinus texensis

don't you think?
