I didn't have any flower shots handy, so I snapped one this morning in our front yard flower bed while waiting for my wife. She informed me it's not a bluebonnet, but I can't remember what she said it is.

It looks to be at least of the same genus. This leaves look similar too.

The garden center where she bought the seeds said it was "blue salvia". Either that or that's just what she remembers.
