Great pics and trip report.   Sorry that you had to cut the trip short, but good that you saw view from the summit of Guadalupe Peak.  Usually the first couple of weeks in Nov. are primetime with cool, dry, sunny weather and much less wind.   The leaves then are very beautiful too.
